Tiara Beach Resort, Port Dickson - A Perfect Holiday for Kids

Tiara Beach Resort – Perfect Holiday for Kids
Date of Travel : 07.03.09 (12.00 noon) – 08.03.09 (12.30 pm)

We booked a studio country view apartment on last Saturday 07.03.09 at Tiara Beach Resort.

The view of the room after my family and I moved in ..ha ha ha..

That's what happened when there are kids around!!

I booked the Tiara Beach Resort through the internet on 06.03.09, for RM200. I noticed that latestays.com also have the same apartment available, however for a higher price at RM220, not inclusive of booking charge of about RM13.

That night I noticed Darren was very quiet on the way back from kindergarten, which was very different from his normal self. Normally if I were to pick him up from the kindergarten he will be busy "koreking" my bag for FOOODD.....

I wonder what the kindergarten feeds him....he always ravenous when he arrived home.

That day he just sat there quietly and not moving. The restless one was not climbing up and down that day!!! Something not right!!

To my dismay, Darren got fever !!!…Ooo dear how to travel and play water when he’s not feeling well. We quickly took him to see doctor.

The sun was still hot. So, walking around the resorts to have an overview of the facilities.

My poor boy. Daddy went off ahead with Ko Ko while my dear clumsy littlle boy got to struggle climbing up the slope!!!

On 07.03.09, we departed from home at 12.10 pm . That was a bit late to travel, now that I realized. We arrived at PD at about 2.30 pm after our lunch at a Chinese restaurant (outside PD Marina Hotel) as the check in time is 3pm.

Kids were impatient to swim. Luckily, the weather was not that so hot, so we was able to jump into the pool from 4.30 pm onwards. Wow..that was good...Couldn’t get enough of it. But at 7 pm, it was a bit cold as it was a bit windy.

I noticed Mei Mei was shivering a bit already... Mei Mei somehow is not so strong against cold..since birth.

Moving from children pool to the biggest pool.

The room is bigger than expected. If you are looking for a very comfortable and posh hotel to stay, I don't think this is the right place. The air condition is not cold enough, the floor is not carpeted, the tv reception is not very good, no astro channel, etc…

However, if you are not fussy, the room is fine, big enough for quite a number of people. You can always rent a mattress if you want to. There were also people bringing their own rollaways for the stay.

Ko ko enjoyed himself so much with the slide.

I must say this is really an excellent place for people who are looking for an enjoyable swimming experience for young kids.

The children (2 to 7 years old) had a very enjoyable time playing with the pool facilities here.

I enjoyed it as well as I got to swim and play as I watched my kids.

Arren (as Mei Mei used to call him) with his sulking face as he's irritated about something.

There are a few pools there with different depth which is excellent; the kids can play from pool to pool. Some area of the pool (covered by the apartments, but depend on the time that you go for swimming) is not so hot, at least you won’t get sunburn for playing under the hot sun for too long.

Huh, the experience of getting sunburn was really very unpleasant. We were not going to repeat that!!!

First day we had played at the pools for about 3 hours (4.30 pm - 7.15 pm), second day also 3 hours (8.30 am -11.50 am)...Hmmm...really couldn't get enough of it....

Daddy was carrying our dear Arren, who was holding on so tightly.

At night, there were live performances at the Pavillion Stage (an open air stage). The show only started at about 9.00 pm as it was drizzling from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm.

My poor Arren cut his finger even before he managed to start colouring. My poor baby.

We were at the Kids Club at that time waiting for the colouring contest.... The colouring contest was really a no no laaa...wasting time only...So poorly organised.

Ko ko enjoying himself with the float. He's so happy now that he could swim with a float.

Back to the live performances...ya, they were good.... very suitable for everyone, even the kids enjoyed it. There were singing/dancing by young talents and some acrobatic performances. We watched until it finished at 10.30 pm. They had a movie show after that, which we were unable to stay. Darren was very tired already, gotta bring him back to sleep.

See, look at her face!!! The naughty one enjoyed the water so much that she was laughing wickedly..

There are more activities there.. which we did not join.

All in all, it is a great place to be for family with young kids.

Mei Mei was so excited, playing with the slide. She couldn't get enough of it. Keep pulling me to take her for more.

Checking out at 12.30 pm. We left in search for food. There were a number of local restaurants near the resort. Found a chinese restaurant for lunch. Wah, the food got a lot of ajinomoto laaa.. So thirsty after eating.
After lunch, we left for the public beach near the Avillion. We used GPS to direct us to the place as we forgotten how to go there, using the Avillion as our destination. We had been there last year end, a day before Deepavalli. We did not stay long as the kids become a bit restless. Will show some pictures of that place in my next post.

I went home feeling not so satisfied, as if I have not played and enjoyed fully. The holiday seemed like so short!!! Sigh…

We arrived home at 4.30 pm.

Hmmm…07.03.09 12 noon to 08.03.09 4.30 pm. Such a short trip!! Not enough!!! After all tomorrow puclic holiday wooo….No work leee…:(
